 Special Lenten Opportunities

LENT IS …

A time for looking at the things we do that are wrong or that tempt us, asking God's & other people's forgiveness;

A time for giving up things that keep us from being loving people;

A time for doing extra things that will help us grow closer to God;

A time to be more aware of what it means to love as God loves us;

A time to ask God to help us to be more loving, remembering that God is always ready to strengthen us

 Keeping A Holy Lent

The liturgy for Ash Wednesday sets the tone for our Lenten journey and discipline. We are invited to create new hearts and lives for ourselves by self-examination and repentance. The season of Lent is that time in which all Christians are called to reflect upon their relationship with God in Jesus Christ.

We are encouraged during Lent to embrace the ancient practices of 'prayer, fasting, almsgiving, self-denial and reading or meditating on God's holy Word". Lent is especially an appropriate time to change our daily habits and look to our lives differently. The opportunity exists in our lives to both "let something go" and to "take something on".

It has been the practice of Christian peoples to use Lent as a time of preparing for Easter. Each of us is invited to use these traditional ways of entering into a deeper relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. The way we utilize the season will influence our celebration of the Resurrection.

You are invited to keep a Holy Lent this year at Grace Church in Haddonfield. This Web Page outlines a number of the activities, services, and programs in which you may participate throughout the season. Come be with us during Lent. Come be part of our efforts to make our faith a greater part of our day-to-day life.

God bless you and keep you.

With warmest regards, I remain,
Faithfully yours in Christ

Fr Pat
